It is known for its peaceful atmosphere, greenery, and low-rise Mediterranean-style buildings rather than high-density tourism development. The area is especially popular with international residents, including British, Scandinavian, and other Northern European homeowners, so English is widely spoken alongside Spanish. It has a relaxed, residential feel year-round, although it becomes livelier in summer when holidaymakers arrive. Compared to busier coastal towns, Miraflores feels more private and calm. One of the main features of the neighbourhood is Miraflores Golf, which adds open green space and a sense of spaciousness to the surroundings.
